Meringolo was co-developer of the $65 million Maryland Heritage Project, a partnership between Historic St. Mary’s City and St. Mary’s College.

Before his arrival at St. Mary’s, he served as the associate dean of the University Libraries at The Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, he became actively involved in fundraising on behalf of the Libraries’ collections and programs.
